Essential oils, or ethereal oils, are substances in liquid form, extracted by distillation from plants, using parts of them: flowers, leaves, fruits.
Proving therapeutic properties that have been identified and described since ancient times this subtle, concentrated oils have been successfully used to restore well-being. Usable in small quantities, a few drops, either by volatilization or by mixing in carrier oils or vegetable butters.
Some essential oils have analgesic, antiseptic, antiinflammatory properties: basil, chamomile, cinnamon, sage, copaiba, coriander, eucalyptus .
Other oils are known for their sedative and relaxing properties: fir, lavender, hop flowers, melissa, rose.
Others are tonic and astringent: bergamot, sweet orange, lemon, cloves, coriander.
Can be mixed in various combinations to obtain complex and cumulative effects.
